A final notable difference between the two operating systems is their search feature. While both systems offer great search functionality, with the Mac OS X having a wider range of search options, such as searching for a file on your hard drive, in addition, you can also search for specific applications, web pages or even websites. In comparison, in Windows, the search option will not work unless you open the Windows Start menu. This means that if you want to look up a file in the Finder, for example, you will have to start from the desktop instead of the Start menu. Thus, in the end, the search feature is slightly more effective in Mac OS X, especially when you need to perform a specific action in specific locations. Overall, the Mac OS X has a slight edge on its competitor. Although both operating systems can run most common tasks, it seems like the Mac has just a little more ability to perform complicated tasks.
